What's the story behind ABD's Teen Talent Showcase?

Decades of research have shown that engaging in the arts helps us become more engaged, resilient, and better able to cope with mental challenges.

Our Teen Talent Showcase is place for young rising stars to showcase their gifts! It’s also a place for families to gather and stay connected to a larger community while in quarantine.

What are the rules?

  1. A variety of acts are encouraged—singing, playing a musical instrument, dancing, performing in a skit, doing magic tricks, performing stand-up comedy, juggling, or any other unique talent!
  2. All performers must be teens. An exception is allowed for one adult performing an accompanying role (e.g., playing piano for a vocal act).
  3. Submissions are valid only for the month submitted. If you weren’t chosen for as a Monthly Finalist, you can submit another act in the following month.
  4. All acts must be no longer than 3 minutes.
  5. All lyrics must be appropriate in every way. This includes any song being sung, performed by an instrumentalist, or danced to. A “clean” version of a song with explicit lyrics is not acceptable—the original song must be appropriate in every way!
  6. All acts must be fully prepared for the Live 45-minute Zoom Show—words memorized, choreography completed, etc.
  7. All teens invited to perform on the Live 45-minute Zoom Show must obtain parental consent. Parents must fill out an online permission form. Per our Privacy Policy, we do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal information collected by our site to third parties in the ordinary course of business.

How do I register for the Virtual Auditions?

Due to safety regulations and restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be conducting in-person auditions. But not to worry, you will still be able to have the chance to have your talent seen by producers by uploading your Teen Talent Show video submission from the safety of your own home, through our online portal!

I'm under 18. Can I participate?

Yes, all teens are welcome to participate in the Virtual Auditions. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian, who is 21 years of age or older, MUST be with you at all times including in the room during your first round auditions.

I'm a dancer. Will the virtual auditions work for me?

As long as we can see you (and your dance moves!) the Virtual Auditions will work for you! Please be in a safe space where you have the freedom to move around.

I'm part of a group. How should we register?

Due to safety regulations and restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, we strongly discourage groups of any size gathering for the Virtual Audition tape.

You can submit a pre-existing video online instead of gathering to film a new audition tape. We're accepting older videos, as we understand it has been challenging to film with large groups in 2020.

When you submit your online audition, only ONE member should register on behalf of the group.

I submitted my audition video. What's next?

Our judges will send a confirmation email if you've been selected to go through the next round.

Let's be friends!

Join our growing ABD community and help spread the word about the Teen Talent showcase!
